Finding good snow still
Its a little late, but better late than never….
any ways over the weekend (last weekend) I headed up to Tower, MN to say at Fortune Bay Resort/Casino. We headed up last Wednesday after work and got up there around 5pm or so. When we got up there, there were snowmobiles every where. I was a bit nervous that the snow conditions would be horrible, I was expecting the worse.
Well we decided not to ride Wednesday night and make Thursday and all day ride. We got up at 6am and were on the trails by 7am.
Us at 7am:
We headed West towards Cook, Side lake area. We got out onto the trials and I was shocked, the trails were still in damn near “perfect” conditions for how late in the season it was, and for the fact that nearly all of Minnesota hasn’t had new snow in weeks.
This is the type of conditions we saw the entire trip:
Thursday was just awesome, it was great getting out with the guys, enjoying the day, and putting the stress of work, women, everything behind us. Thursday we put on damn near 200 miles and by the end of the day everyone was feeling it. It was worth it though.
Friday started out later, no 6am wakeup call. In fact we didn’t get started till damn near 10am Friday, which for me sucked as I wanted to ride, but oh well we still got in near 100 miles Friday even with the “issues” a couple of the guys were having with their sleds. Either way it was still a good day of riding.
In the end the trip was well worth it. Great conditions, great company and a great place to stay on top of it. Here is the remaining pictures from the trip, enjoy!
