Which new 7MC feature has you excited?

As the title asks, which new 7MC feature(s) have you excited? For me the one new feature that really has me excited is the “play to” feature. I’ve been running Windows 7 for a few weeks now, I have an MSI Wind netbook that I am running Windows 7 on as well as my old decommissioned HTPC hardware.

So between the two machines I’ve been extensively playing around with 7MC and the additional features like play to. On my old HTPC I brought it back to life just for testing out 7MC. I have a AMD 780G mobo (no old I know, but was less than I wanted for my current hardware) went out and got a cheap AM2 core cpu, 2gigs of ram, and off I went. I installed and setup a spare Silicon Dust HD Homerun network tuner which is doing QAM tuning on my Comcast cable line.

I’ve been playing around with Play to, sending recorded TV to my netbook, as well as music and other video files. The play to feature really has me excited I am really enjoying being able to send videos and especially music from my 7MC test box to devices around my home. I have also been using the play to to play music to the media center extender (xbox 360) I have hooked up in the theater room in my basement. That way I can have my “production” HTPC which is directly connected to my home theater and still play around with 7MC at the same time.

If you want to learn more about play to or have any questions about it, head over to the digital life style website and read up on the 7MC play to wiki that Ian Dixon and his crew have started over there as well as check out the Q&A ( first Q&A, Second Q&A) that Ian has done about play to.

So if you are running Windows 7 I would highly recommend you give Play To a try it really does have some great potential.
